House closing

The house closing didn't happen.... 4 hours before it closed the buyer couldn't get his financing. What a disappointment.

I moved the last of my yarn here... yahoo.... and my fabric... I am thinking I need to downsize as the garage is so full at our rental. Yikes.

Checking In

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time..... Life has been busy, busy, busy. I am working everyday except for every other Sunday. Retail before Christmas is crazy!

We are also in the process of selling our home. We are moving the last of our stuff tomorrow and hopefully closing on it on Wed. We want it all done by the end of the year.

Knitting is almost non-existent which makes me very sad. I need some new mittens and hate to buy some knowing that I can knit a better pair. I have one done... and the cuff of the 2nd one done. Maybe once the house is sold I can relax a bit.

Christmas was very nice this year. I had it at our new apartment. My grandbaby Ella is almost 2 and was so cute opening presents. I got her a baby doll and she carried it around hugging it.... so precious.

Hopefully I will have some more time for posting more often also.

Merry Christmas and Have a Blessed New Year!

Knitting???

I am so tired after a day of work that I can't even knit. UGHHHHHH
I can do dishcloths as I have memorized the pattern but even those are sitting in basket waiting to be finished.

The job is going well but I have not worked in 3 years and my legs can hardly take the standing.

I just found out I am going to be a Gramma again!!!!! I am so happy for my daughter and son-in-law. Grandbaby # 2 will be arriving in the Spring.

I am still alive...

Although some nights my legs want to die!!!
We moved on Aug. 15th, or should I say, started to move. I then started a job at my sister's store, Cottage Chic home furnishings, on the 17th!!! I love my new digs and job but I am pooped!
I am so tired at night that I rarely knit. I knit dishcloths only because my eyes won't let me follow a pattern. o|o

I will try to post more often as to stay in the ring rules.... ;-)

Knitting slump?

Do you ever get where you don't know what to knit next? I have been knitting dishcloths and got all caught up with my orders and want to do something different and I just can't figure out what project to do..... Maybe it's the heat.

We finally got an air conditioner and today is cooler... go figure. The day my husband agreed that we needed one , I couldn't find one anywhere! Dear hubby kept looking and found one an hour away at a Best Buy. How in the world did I survive without it????

I got some really awesome knit notecards from Knit Chick. How fun. FiberRAOK is an awesome group.

Dish Cloths

Wow, I feel like a knitting machine! I have been getting orders for dishcloths! I have knit about 3 dozen in the past month. I don't make much profit but I can buy more yarn which makes me happy.

Today I feel like a wrung out dishcloth. The Lord is doing some weeding in my life and mind. He is confirming "words" and healing me. I am so thankful for my Tuesday night Bible study group. We minister one to another and have become so close.

My little GrandToddler will be 18 months old tomorrow! That has gone by so fast! She blows kisses that melt my heart!

Block of the month class

I joined a block of the month class at my LYS and am enjoying learning new techniques. I have 3 blocks finished so far and I am using coordinating colors of Encore wool.

I bought a new knitting book yesterday "Modular Knitting" Can't wait to start knitting up some of the blocks.

I also have been knitting many cotton dish cloths and selling them. Keeps me in yarn money!! ;-)

I am still knitting

...just not posting as much. Now that summer is upon us and flower gardens need tending, graduations, picnics and such, knitting is reserved for night time.

I am growing in the Lord so fast and having a fun time! My hip got healed which allows me to garden again! My flower gardens were so neglected.

Quit new job!

Well that job lasted 20 hours. I quit today. It had inadequate office furniture and space and it made my back & fibromyalgia worse. Oh well...back to the want ads.

Now I may have more time to post here and to knit also.

Monday, April 25, 2005

I start work tomorrow!!!

Hallelujah! I got the job at Radio Shack! It is about 3 min. from home and about 20 hours a week. Yahoo!!!!
I have been praying for 3 years for a job that would accomodate my health. BUT April has been a month of healing for me. My arthritic hip was healed at the end of March and Saturday my back pain was healed!!!!! Praise God for His overflowing love and healing.

still waiting

Had 2nd interview for job, felt very good about it.... maybe I will hear on Monday!

Took a knitting class today. We are doing a block a month to learn new patterns. Doing a button stitch square.

My LYS, The Troll's Cove, is thinking about having a knitting retreat this Fall. She would bring in a knitting author. I hope so.

Monday, April 18, 2005

The waiting game

Oh it is so hard to wait sometimes. I have applied for a job and had an interview. I won't do the knitting class/party thing if I get a job. Can't plan a weekend away either...

What a beautiful day here today. We had some nice sprinkles on Sat. and it greened up the grass nicely. My perennials are coming up. Crocus are all done.

I started on a sweater. Maybe by fall I will have it done! Ha

Met my daughter, son-in-law, and grand-daughter at a half-way town on Sat. and we went shopping and out to lunch. I bought Ella her first baby doll and she really loves it. Mommy says she hugs and kisses it all the time. She is almost 14 months old already!

Knitting Biz

I am considering a knitting type business where I teach and provide kits.

*Would buying kits interest you?
*Would you go to a knitting party?
*Would you like someone to come to your house to teach you?

Please post your thoughts.

Random Acts of Kindness?

I belong to this great group called FiberRAOK (Fiber Random Acts of Kindness). Thank you for all the kindness I have received!

Now the idea is great...but should they be random???

How about Deliberate Acts of Kindness? DAOK?
As a Christian I should be doing this at all times.

Not much new here.
Knitting has slowed down with nicer weather.

Have a knit stuffed rabbit almost done.

Finished socks

I finally finished my Sockatta socks. I knit them short ankle length for summer. They fit like isotoners!
I have given up on my pi shawl and a lacy vest as the warmer weather is here. Now I am itching to start a new project and can't decide.

I am thinking about starting another home biz but dread doing home parties again. I wish there was some sort of knitting class biz I could start and have home parties with that!
I am going to quit selling Watkins as the shipping is killing me. I no longer make any money. My customers will be sad but they can order online.

My son is flying out to Seattle with his friend on Sat morn to stay with a couple of their friends from High school. This will be his first time flying on a big plane! I will be praying the whole time that nothing happens with his flights.

It rained last night good and hard and almost all our snow is gone now. It is so brown and dismal looking and MUDDY!

PDA & Case

Here is my new PalmOne Zire 31 and the case I knit for it. I am loving it. I downloaded Knitable's free trial onto it...too cool.

Easter weekend was very nice. My daughter, her hubby and my grandToddler came down on Friday and my Dad came up on Saturday. I made ham, mashed potatoes, baked beans and rolls. Everything turned out great.

Good Friday

What a Holy day today is when we remember what Jesus withstood as payment for our sin.

My daughter, SIL and dear Ella are arriving shortly! I have tried to babyproof but will have to keep a sharp eye on the Toddler of the Universe (TOD). I am making Easter dinner tomorrow and my dad is also coming over. He doesn't drive this way much and so I am excited.

I went to knitting group last night. We sure had some great laughs. I made good progress on the foot of sock 2.

My Easter Lily has 2 full blossoms open! It's beautiful! 2 years ago I transplanted one outside and it bloomed with about 7 blossoms last summer. It was a wonderful addition to my flower bed!

Happy Easter everyone.

Remember, Jesus didn't stay in the tomb!!!!

My saying for the day

Count your blessings, not your problems!
The Lord is teaching me to be thankful for what I do have. I have a warm, dry house with all the working necessities. It may not be the best of homes but it is ours.

I am having fun with my new PalmOne and downloaded a free Bible! There are some knitting programs too. This PDA is a blessing.

I am going to knitting group this afternoon. Maybe I will get sock #2 finished???

I got RAOK'd yesterday with some more yarn for knitting for charity and a Chibi!!! Thanks Nyxxie!

Healing

I went to a healing service on Thursday and since then my arthritic hip has not hurt! Praise the Lord! I walked into the service limping,
could hardly stand during worship and I walked out normally at the end of the night. I even went shopping which is the hardest thing for my hip and still doing well. I am sleeping better also. Praise the Lord for His healing touch!

KNitwise I have gotten almost done with the heel flap on 2nd sockatta sock, finished knitting all the body parts for a bear, sewn up one leg
of it, frogged a knit square several times that I am trying some 2 color knitting on..... just can't get that down.

I am awaiting delivery of my FIRST PDA!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to get some knitting programs for it so I can take it with me to knitting classes and knitting on the go. I am getting a Palm Zire 31...found the best price at Beach Camera after much research. I had gotten some money from my Dad a waited quite a while to get myself something. :-) Thanks Dad!

A squirrel just blew out a transformer down the street and the other side has no power but I do! Phew. It would get mighty cold here
without a furnace. It was a big explosion!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Today is always special to me,,,, not because I am part Irish but it is my Spiritual Re-Birthday! I was Born-Again 27 years ago out of a drunken St. Paddy's day. That day was the last day that I drank, did illegal drugs or had sex outside of marriage. Praise God that He saved me from myself!

I finished knitting all my teddy bear parts last night. Knitting is fun...sewing together is not. LOL I got Debbie Bliss's Teddy Bear book from the library and thought I would try one. I am making the small bear on page 15.

New Gramma Doo

My daughter, a beautician, gave me a new GrammaDoo! New color and spikey cut. I love it! I have never colored my hair before and this is only a temp color but I think I may color with a permanent color with a Brighter red....I was a red head as a youngster.

Darling Ella is all ready for Easter. She admires herself in the mirror! Too cute.

On the knitting world....or should I say fiber world...Birdhouse is partly felted.
I also tried my hand at Kool-aid dyeing yesterday...pictures coming another post.

Needle Felting

OH NO I have another new addiction! Needle Felting. I got some needles to try and I LOVE it.

I have a blog over at Xanga and am a member of this ring. YARNAHOLICS

I am so disappointed as I was denied disability again. Now I have to get a free lawyer to help me. It made me so sad getting the letter yesterday. You hang on for 3-4 months waiting each time. I was getting my hopes up and then CRASH. Dear hubby has to work so hard to take care of me and work too.

Cold again!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
It was only 10 degrees when I woke up this morning. We had a good snow storm last night also. Larry says this is our last winter in Wisconsin. I am thinking he wants to move to Texas near his family.

I finished one sockata sock yesterday and started a teddy bear. It will be my first attempt at doll type knitting.

Feeling better today. Must have been a 24 hour bug.

Ordered some more knitting needles on eBay yesterday. Addi's are so cheap from these people in Hong Kong. Gotta love a deal. Makes you wonder why American shops mark them up so much!!!

Flu...go away

I think I am coming down with the flu. I am achy all over, other than my fibromyalgia pain, and my eyes burn. Oh and a killer headache! Just don't feel quite right. Even missed knitting group. :-(

I am almost done with one sockatta sock. It fits like a an isotoner glove.

I got some wonderful stitch markers today from Julie over at Stoneview

Ella's 1st birthday

Oh what fun. Ella's 1st birthday party was a success! She got tons of clothes and toys and shoes. She ate her cake with gusto! Her mommy loved the leg warmers I knit her! LOL It is amazing how much she has changed. Walking and new faces.

I found fixin's to finish my felted purse!!!! Now I will get that done.

WEATHER! Yesterday we had 50 degrees and a lot of snow melted now today it is cold and snowing again. I am ready for Spring!

I started a pair fo socks on size 1 needles and Socakatta yarn. Oh how pretty they will be. Since they will be a warm weather sock I am making them shorter. The yarn is blues and greens and knits up looking like caribbean water. Yummm

I also started knitting a felted birdhouse from fiber trends. Finished the base and can't remember where I placed my needles. Is this what happens at 50?????

RAOK-ey week

Wow I feel so blessed. I have been RAOK'd twice this week. (Random Act Of Kindness for those of you not in the Ring.) Yesterday I got a box with 5 skeins of yarn from Jenny and today I got a card and a magnet from Erica. Thank you both.

My dear granddaughter turned 1 year old on Monday and took her first walking alone steps! Just like her Mommy did! I remember it so clearly. How can 25 years go by that quick? We are going up there this weekend for the 1st birthday party. It was cancelled last weekend due to illness.

I got my booga bag all felted and have handles ready to put on but can't find a decent way to put the handles on. I might have to go buy some grommets.

I started this one pair of socks 4 times and wasn't satisfied or made mistakes. I was all the way into the foot and it just didn't fit right. I think the yarn I chose was not good sock yarn.....sooooo... sploosh it went into the frog pond last night!

WebRings...what's up with them???

Ok someone must not like me over at WebRings. I have applied for HandKnitting ring and Knitting Blog and was denied for lack of knitting on my blog?????? LOL Who needs them when we have RingSurf!

There will be some changes on my site this week as I have been RAOK'd with a custom header for here. I am still working on the html to get it to look its best.
*I guess I figured it out..*
Thank you Amyfor the Awesome header!

This weekend is my grandbaby Ella's FIRST Birthday!!!! Does she become a GrandToddler now instead of baby? Camera battery is all charged and plenty of tape in camcorder! I can't believe she is 1 already!

too much time on hands...

I must have too much time on my hands to do this...heeheehee

I created my name with my knitting needles on the front of this sweater just for the fun of it.
I knit this sweater about 20 years ago! I got the raw fleece from local sheep farmer, washed the fleece, carded the wool, spun the wool, met Elizabeth Zimmerman, knit the sweater from the Knitter's Worshop book. If you notice the detail in the yoke...it is a piano keyboard.
My DH is a piano technician and I knit it for him.

Where I've been in my life....

In bold are the States I've been to, underlined the States I've lived in and italicize the State I am in now...

Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas / California / Colorado / Connecticut / Delaware / Florida / Georgia / Hawaii / Idaho / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kansas / Kentucky / Louisiana / Maine / Maryland / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Mississippi / Missouri / Montana / Nebraska / Nevada / New Hampshire / New Jersey / New Mexico / New York / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Oregon / Pennsylvania / Rhode Island / South Carolina / South Dakota / Tennessee / Texas / Utah / Vermont / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin / Wyoming / Washington D.C /
Go here to have a form generate the HTML for you.

That was fun. It brought back some fun memories. I collect thimbles and try to get one from each state I visit. When I was in Hawaii, I forgot to get one. Arrgghh. So if you live in Maui, email me. ;-)
Most of the states have been drive thrus to get to other places. I forgot I was in CA at LAX for a run thru. LOL Does that count?
I have lived in Wisconsin all my life and had only visited IL, MN and MO until I was 40. When I was 40 my sis moved to FL and I rode with her when she moved there. That was the beginning of my travels! In 1999 I earned a free trip to Maui and spent a week there! That was totally awesome! We drove to Texas in 2000 for Christmas and we saw a lot of countryside on that trip! I have also been to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Sunny day after snow

We got about 6" of snow over the weekend and today is sunny and it is so pretty. The tree boughs are heavy laden. This is why I like Wisconsin!

I am knitting some leg warmers for my dear Ella's 1st birthday this weekend. They are so little and cute.

My new bird is growing accustomed to us very nicely. He now will come out of cage and hop around on the floor. The shelter had clipped his wings so he would settle easier. I still haven't decided on a name...mostly call him "Baby".

I have discovered listening to audio books and knitting! Talk about killing 2 birds with 1 stone. I also listen to Calvary Chapel teachers on KWave radio online. How cool is learning more about our Lord via the internet and online radio!!!! I get more knitting done this way too.

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

Name for the bird??

I still haven't found just the right name for the bird. He likes the "p" sound when I say words so thought about a "p" name. Poncho, Peppy, Petey,,,, The list goes on....leave a suggestion in the comment area.... He is warming up to me gradually and chatters more. He is a very nice bird.

I have been dizzy for 5 days now. Don't know what's going on...I did wean myself off of the anti-depressants I was on...did it nice and slow. Took a water pill today to see if that will help. I guess I might have to call the doctor.
***update...on my way to Dr now... 3:41 pm...***

***Update....I have labrynthitis (inner ear infection). Thank goodness it is not my blood pressure!...5:17 pm***

I am making slow progress on Light as Air vest. It takes awhile to knit 216 stitches across...you make the back and sides togther up to the arm pit. The yarn is so soft. I will have to take a strand with me next time I am out shopping to find the right tee or turtleneck to go under it.

Monday, February 14, 2005

Needle case

I was trying to figure out a way to store my circular needles and remembered a quilt project notebook I had made in the past. So I went searching for something to make the outside with and spotted a felted purse I made but didn't like. Wallah!
Here is what I made...

Sunday, February 13, 2005

I guess I am not a yarn snob!

Hahaha. I found the mohair yarn for my Light as Air vest! Lion Brand at $3.79 a skein...total yarn cost to make vest under $20! It is knitting up nicely.

I love natural yarns but I am on an acrylic budget. Some day my yarn ship will come in....I'll be at the airport!

Fun Journal Activity

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

Here is mine...
"Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you." Deuteronomy 5:16 -- from the Holy Bible New King James version.

New bird

My new Budgie is home safely! He is so pretty. He now has to get accustomed to me and his new surroundings. He is nice and quiet so far. The bird rescue had some awesome birds. I found this bird thru PetFinder online.

I went to yarn shop while in Neenah and bought a pattern. The pattern is Lorna's Laces Light as Air vest.

It is made from Lorna's Laces Heaven which is $66 a hank!!! Yikes...1 hank to make a vest. I did find the same yarn online for $49.50 but that is still too much for me.... I will find some clearance yarn somewhere for it.

I wanted a book but she was sold out so found it online. Jean Frost's Jackets.

Very fun day for me!

getting a new bird

I am so excited. I am adopting a parakeet from a bird rescue and I will pick him up tomorrow! Some of you may remember that I had a cockateil. I had to give her back because she just screeched all the time and it was killing our hearing and our enjoyment of her. This new parakeet is young and tame. I have had parakeets in the past and have taught them to talk and sit on my shoulder.

I finished knitting my "booga" bag last night and have to felt it now.

Start of felting...
I didn't want the lunch bag look so I went to thrift shop and picked up a funky old purse that had the coolest handles.

I took the handles off and will use on the bag. Our local yarn shop is running a contest on the most original felted bag so hoping I stand a chance! I will get pictures up soon.

I started knitting a "chemo" hat out of very soft fizzy yarn. Now need to find out if our local hospital knows where I can donate some if I knit more.

I stumbled upon Xanga and decided to get another free blog.
My xanga blog

I am not quite sure if I like it or not.... there are too many teens joining rings that they have nothing to do but post their dating profiles on. LOL

Knitting...

Started knitting a Booga Bag last night. Got the bottom all done and now need to pick up stitches to start knitting in the round. Using Noro Kureyon.

New Stash

Look what I got yesterday!

My order from Little Knits
Bulky Fixation and a free pattern book plus some yarn samples. Very fast shipping! The Fixation Bulky was 50% off!!!!

I also took a picture of my Pi Shawl progress.

You can't tell size because it is on circulars. I am at 288 stitches and row 7 of that section. I decided to try the diamond pattern and I think I made a booboo...but only have to "tink" a few stitches.

My DH bought me the new Spring Cast Off magazine yesterday! There is a couple of nice Tee patterns in bigger sizes! More stash needed now!!!

Pi Shawl

After owning EZ's almanac, with the Pi Shawl in it, since the 80's....I found a yahoo group that is doing a knit-along.

Yahoo! I got out some great mohair/wool dk weight yarn and jumped in. Oh it will be so soft. Hope to get some pix taken soon with my progress.

We are having a heat wave here. Going to be 48 deg.F today....record breaker! All our snow will be diminished and winter carnivals are being cancelled due to lack of snow. :-(

I went to knitting meeting last night. We keep growing. Lots of new knitters. Makes me happy as the more people who knit, the greater variety of yarn is available!

I got a wonderful brithday gift yesterday in the mail from Lu (FibeRAOK group). 1# of gourmet black licorice made in Australia! YUMMY.

I have a new pair of socks on needles but keep making mistakes and frogging them. Argh... I'll keep looking for a pattern that is easier to keep track of.

More socks

I just finished a pair of socks for me! I used Wool-ease variegated.

I decreased slowly around the leg to form fit them to my leg and they fit like a glove. Of course I started right away on another pair for myself. I will be using a solid color and doing a pattern in leg.

Dear Grandbaby was here and she had to model my scarf/hood.

New chat box

I put a new chatbox on my blog as the tagboard one was adding pop-ups, which I can't stand. It is in the sidebar, down a bit.

We went back to cold weather again! It was -13 F when we woke up this a.m. BRRRRR.

I am starting the heel of a pair of thicker wool socks for me. It is just too cold to wear thin socks.

Tomorrow my 6 months are up since my accident. I went the whole six months without a ticket so they will drop the ticket as it really wasn't my fault! Yippee!!!!! It is amazing how well behaved my driving was. LOL I will continue driving this way though as the accident scared me. I rear-ended a jerk who keppe changing lanes, pulled in front of me and slammed on his brakes. I slammed on mine to avoid hitting him and my brake line blew. I ended up really smashing my car and did no damage to his. I also got lateral whiplash and a ton of pain. I had to sell that car as it cost more to fix it than to buy the newer one I have now.

Knitting Looms

I ordered a set of round knitting looms and they arrived yesterday. I knit a baby hat yesterday afternoon using one!

We got lots of snow! Sun is shining and it looks so pretty.

Yesterday the mailperson knocked on my door and delivered 2 boxes of baby yarn! I got them from a sweetheart of a blogger called Knitting Nyxxie! The hat I knit yesterday was from the gift. FiberRAOK is a wonderful group of knitters.

*Note to self.....I really have to get my camera out and take some more knitting pictures......

Warmer today...

but it is snowing again..... so we are not traveling north for my daughter's 25th birthday. I am sad...
Every 4 years she celebrates her birthday with an inauguration! LOL

I am thinking of starting some socks for me cuff down just to get some done. I am still stuck on toe-up instructions. Just not in a learning mode I guess.
I ordered some of those round knitting looms. I am thinking I can knit some hats quickly with them. Joann's had a 50% off code so finally ordered them. Have been looking at them for years. I'll let you know if they were worth the investment.

Still cold....

Ok I am sick of this cold.... I want to go south! Today it is supposed to break and we may have a high of 12 above... get out the shorts! But with the "warmer" air will come more snow.

I knit one baby hat for donating and need to knit many many more. I am almost done with a fun fur hood/scarf for myself. I knit my son a funky multi-colored hat and all his friends want one now!

I am stuck on my toe-up socks for myself. Just haven't taken the time to really figure out the spot where I am. I have so many things I want to start but only have so many needles! LOL

Thursday is my daughter's birthday and we are hoping for good weather to drive up north to see her.

BRRRRRR....

It is 11:00 am and the temp. has risen to -5 degrees F. I put blankets and quilts over windows to help keep the cold out. Our furnace has run non-stop all morning trying to get the house warm. I am going to bake some bread today to help the furnace out. I wish I were knitting an afghan to keep my lap warm. LOL

I got a birthday RAOK in the mail today!!!!! What a delight! Lynne sent me some Home Cooking stickers, some gourmet mocha cocoa and the coolest little box of Spirit Lifters cards. Thank you Lynne!

I am knitting my son another hat as he forgot his other one I knit in his friends van. I am also knitting Hello Kitty sweater (knitalong) for my dear Ella's 1st birthday. I am about to start the kitty pattern.

What a what to start my 50th year! LOL

Dear Hubby says he now married to a half century hotty! ROFLOL

The BIG 50!!!

When did this happen? How can I be 50? I feel like I am still in my 20's.

Dear Son took me to lunch on Tuesday, Dear Hubby took me out to lunch yesterday and shopping. He bought me a nice boombox for listening to my teaching tapes while at computer and also a new watch. We were supposed to be going up to my daughter's for the weekend but the weather is supposed to drop to 40 below zero!!!! Our old cars just can't hack that. My daughter is going to give me some temporary red color to my hair. Now mind you, I don't have but 2 gray hairs but thought it would be fun.

I have recieved so many birthday e-cards from online friends! Thank you all. Internet friends are wonderful!!

Icy day

Freezing rain and bad roads makes for an icky day here.

I started knitting a hooded scarf last night out of fun fur. It looks very fuzzy and funky.

Went to local yarn shop and spent the gift certificate my son got me for Christmas. Got some sock yarn, fun fur, cotton for a bookmark and a magnetic board to hold patterns. That was fun.

I have another certificate to spend at another yarn shop. I am going to get some more circulars and sell my yucky ones. LOL

Drains are unplugged, car starts, things are looking better! :-)

Nice lunch

My 21 yr old son took me out for lunch today for my birthday (which is Thursday). He took me downtown to our favorite pizza place. They have pizza buffet at noon so we ate well. This is the first time he has been with me to eat since he was a teenager! I guess he is finally growing up and can be seen with Mom again. We had a great talk.

I am almost done knitting a baby hat for charity out of some yarn that was given to me. I plan on knitting more.
I also joined another knitalong! Hello Kitty Knitalong. I will knit a sweater for dear Grandbaby Ella's 1st birthday. Her mommy used to play with Hello Kitty when she was a little girl.

I have some links way at the bottom of the page that you can click on to save money with your purchases. I also have a link to buy knitting software about half way down on right.

Thanks for your prayers yesterday and well wishes. I feel a little more up today.

Major blah mood

Blah,,, I am in a icky mood. I am turning 50 this week and I just don't want to. Oprah & John Travolta are 50 and doing good....hmmm if only I had money maybe 50 wouldn't be so bad.... LOL

My car won't start from the cold. Kitchen drains are plugged again... I haven't been to church since beginning of October because of my health and no one from our church of 19 years has called to ask where I am. My anti-depressant doesn't seem to be working very well. Maybe it's just SAD from winter lack of sun.

I keep starting projects, don't like the way they look, frog them, start another. Dear Grandbaby will be 1 next month, should start a sweater for her.

I need a good hug and some prayers....

I updated my 100 things list...

Suzie Homemaker

I feel like Suzie Homemaker lately. LOL Yesterday I made a big pot of ham & bean soup and loaded breeadmaker up so we had hot bread for breakfast. Tonight I will make cornbread to go with bean soup.
Today have some laundry hanging over drying rack to help humidify this dry old WI home. It snowed all morning and it is beautiful. Its good to stay in and be creative.

Tonight is knitting group and my carpooling knitter friend & I will be going in her 4-wheel drive. It is my turn to drive but she said I wouldn't get up her drive.

Finished my hubby's mittens to match his hat. He is so easy to please. I see mistakes but he sees beautiful and love.

I got RAOK'd today from Nyxxie. Some wonderful white and cream yarns.

Do you ever feel.....

....like you have too many projects started and you don't want to work on any of them? I have come to some parts I don't understand,,, so I start another.

Maybe my resolution should be to finish a hard one before starting another.

Happy New Year!!!

Wow, I actually stayed up last night and watched 2005 happen. LOL

Larry and I started our sugar-free diet today together. We went sugar free for 2 years before our daughter got married and we know that we can do it. We both dropped over 30 pounds but have gained it all back. :-(

I got another gift certificate for local yarn shop! Now to figure out what I want to splurge on.

I am knitting the Thing-Along (sampler) and it kinda fun just to knit a few rows of a stitch and then change.

Hope you all have a Blessed 2005!
