Hammer Dulcimer

My dear hubby has completed Hammer Dulcimer #6. Isn't it beautiful! It sounds as wonderful as it looks. He builds them from scratch.
If you live in Wisconsin and want to buy one, let me know.... shipping may prove too difficult. Posted by Picasa

More Mason Dixon Knitting.

Log Cabin square. I used dishcloth cotton which proved to be heavy and not hold a shape well. I will have it in the doll crib for my granddaughter's dollies.
The concept is the same as in quilting by adding logs on the sides of the beginning square.

Bib knit using all garter stitch from Mason Dixon knitting. Very easy to knit up for a quick gift. I don't think a mommy can have too many bibs! Posted by Picasa

Yahoo! I got my own copy of the book today. BIG GRIN!
I have been using the library's.

Heartbreakingly Cute Baby Kimono

I am so impressed at how easy this kimono was to knit up in just 2 days! It is from the Mason Dixon Knitting book. It is all garter stitch knit in one piece and sewn together down sleeves and sides. I have to find some ribbon to match to make a closure for it or a cute button.

Happy Labor Day! Posted by Picasa

Raspberry hat

I knit my 2 granddaughters each a raspberry hat this week. Ella held still for pictures but Isabelle is too young (3 months). They are too cute... Posted by Picasa

It's official! I am part of the mason-Dixon knitalong. I checked the book out of the library and fell in love with all the patterns! Soooooo I ordered my own copy. I love the garter stitch anyway as I love knitting while doing other things... perfect for this. I started a baby kimono and a log cabin. I got a couple of cones of peaches and cream cotton at w-mart so I can fee this new addiction.

We did a day trip yesterday up to Door County, WI. My hubby loves it up there and his birthday is Tuesday so it was my present to him to go. We took the bikes up and did some biking. He is much stronger than me so I sat in car and knit while he rode his bike up the big hill. I got my 7 rows from day 2 in Sept. monthly dishcloth knitalong done and started on a log cabin cloth. The weather was perfect and it turned into a wonderful day.

Ballband Cloth

My first ballband cloth using Peaches 'n Cream Fiesta Ombre and Sugar 'n Cream Hot Green. Pretty festive looking, huh?(colors are more brilliant in real life)

I got some new inox circulars on ebay this week. I got 16" for those little jobs. Toddler socks are easier on shorter needles.

2 weeks notice!

I gave my 2 weeks notice at work! I have been there a year and enough is enough.
Now I may get some knitting done!!!! And I will have time for my daughter and granddaughters. My hubby will just have to work harder! (glad I have some yarn stashed to keep me going)

I have applied to join this knitalong.
I put the book on hold at our library but have to wait awhile. In the meantime I have the ballband dishcloth pattern that I am enjoying knitting.

What kind of flower?

I am a
Snapdragon

What Flower
Are You?

I usually don't like these quizzes, but I like flowers. :-)

It's been a busy weekend with 2 different conferences I went to. One was on the Father's love (our sonship in Christ) and yesterday was a Spiritual warfare conference! That was totally powerful!

I am giving my 2 week notice at work. I have been there a year and conditions have not changed. Going to take some time off and get caught up on some things and look for that ideal job!!! hahaha Plus I want to spend more time with my grandbabies!

Goody box came today!

I got my order from Herrschner's today!
Handicrafter cotton yarn was only $.77 a skein and I had a free shipping coupon!
I got a couple of gadgets too. One is a Cro-knit (for even tension) and the other is a yarn guide for knitting with more than on color.

I donated 9 dishcloths to our children's group at church for an upcoming bake and craft sale to get a new overhead projector. I will knit more also as I have a couple of weeks. And now I have more cotton! The teachers were thrilled to get them. Posted by Picasa

Mid August KAL

Here is my completed mid August knitalong cloth. The blues in varigated yarn matched too closely to main color so some effect gets lost but it was still a fun pattern to knit. I bet it will scrub dishes nicely with all the texture going on!

I spent a lovely day with my friend Tricia today. She treated me to lunch at a great Mexican restaurant and then on to Baskin-Robbins for coconut/nut ice cream! YUM
She lent me a couple of good books to read and we just had a very pleasant day of talking and laughing. Posted by Picasa
