Mission Trip

I am planning on a Mission trip to Peru in August. I am so excited.
I will be going with Global Fire Ministries and
Global Evangelistic Missions
I need to raise support for this trip so I have a giving button in the sidebar or you can give thru PayPal ... knittindeb (at) gmail (dot) com....
I am also selling hand knit dishcloths. I can knit in almost every color cotton available. They will be $5.00 each postage included. Please pray about helping me reach the lost with the Truth of Jesus.

Happy Birthday to me

I had a great birthday yesterday. Slept late, did no housework, watched my grand nephew...then my hubby took me out to eat at our favorite Italian restaurant. lasagna there is fantastic! They give you such a big portion that we have a meal for today. I also got a piece of Strawberry cheescake from them for my birthday!
Then we went shopping and I got a pretty floral runner for my bedroom.

Now today I feel older! hahahaha

Plunged in the FROG pond

I took a deep breath and plunged into the frog pond! The sweater was eating too much yarn and becoming too heavy to support the shape so this is how it looks today....

Modular Sweater

My camera does not do justice on the colors of the squares. I will try and take a picture of a close up of squares. :-)

I am making progress on my modular knit sweater. Knitting one block at a time and no seams is going very quickly! The blocks are set on point and the strips knit diagonally.
This is the book I am using.

There are a lot of ideas in the book and you learn to design your own.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I can not believe it is 2007. Where did the past year go? Resolutions? Lose weight, as usual (never maintained). Get organized, get up earlier again....
I could just keep the same list year after year. or why bother.... hahahahahaha
I do plan on knitting a sweater for myself this year!

We spent a quiet night at home watching and taping "One Night with the King" , the story of Esther. It was very good. It is one of my favorite stories from the Bible.

May the Lord bless your year with health, prosperity, and happiness!

Barbie knits

I checked out a book from the library and have been busy knitting Barbie accessories. I did all these since 9pm last night, while watching tv. It's fun getting things done quickly! Do you think these kind of things would sell on ebay?

Went to yarn shop...

I went to my local fine yarn shop and bought some #000 double pointed knitting needles. I usually only buy circulars but the cost was prohibitive for buying 2.
I petted all the lovely yarn while I was there and looked at the books.

The owner came in and I asked her if she was hiring. She doesn't need any sales people right now but said she may use me as a model knitter!!! Not only will she provide all the needed materials but will pay me some for the knitting. :-)
I hope she can use me.

I finished knitting a lace bookmark with crochet cotton and size 0 needles..... I blocked it but think I will spray starch it and iron it... It is very pretty.
I also finished Isabelle's sweater and gave it to her for Christmas... She is 7 months old and the sweater was a size 12 month. It just fits.....

Here is mommy, big sister, Ella, and Isabelle (wearing new sweater). Mommy has her hands full with these two darlings!

Sweater set

I knit this sweater for my friend to give to her grandbaby. She is a knitter but ran out of time. Not knowing what kind of money to charge I asked her to buy me an equal amount of yarn. It turned out so nice and it was easy as it was knit top down and the only seams were under the arms. I had yarn left so I knit the cute little hat with i cord top knot.
I am knitting the same sweater for my little Isabelle in a white boucle type yarn. It is turning out so nice. I have about 4 inches on the sleeve left and it will be ready for CHRISTmas.

I am having CHRISTmas here on Sat. the 23rd. Almost all of my family will be here! Turkey, ham and all the extras. YUMMM

Felted Slippers

I just started felting a pair of knit slippers for myself.
One is felted the other isn't.. dramatic size difference!
They are a ladies size large (8-1/2 to 9). The unfelted one was too big for my size 13 foot husband!
I am going to buy some puff paint for the soles to make them non-slip.

Thanksgiving was great!

My daughter and son-in-law invited us up for Thanksgiving this year. First my daughter and grandbabies came down for 3 days and then we drove up north to their house, picking up my son on the way. My son-in-law cooked the entire meal and it was delicious! I felt so spoiled as I always do all the cooking. It was his first turkey dinner. He is a very good cook anyway and now he knows more. He said he would do it anytime!

I knit up a pair of wool clogs and felted them for Ella who is almost 3. I tried the smaller size to see how easy they were. It was very easy. I have one for myself almost done. They are so huge before felting! I put it on my hsubands foot (unfelted) and its big on him and he wears a size 13! he says there is no way that they will shrink down. I must take pictures to show it and prove him wrong! :-)

I have my house all decorated for Christmas and it feels good. Need to load the CD player up with music to really get in the mood. I did not fight the shopping crowds this year. The traffic was horrible around the mall. YUCK.
