Photobucket.com has crashed and this is where I keep all my photos, so none of them are showing up.
Please come back another day to see if they show up.

Tuesday afternoon

I found this toy plastic knitting machine in my mom's stuff and brought it home with me. No instructions with it. I happened to be looking at other knitting blogs and some how stumbled across a website with instructions for the "Barbie Knitting Machine". Patterns to make things too. Oh I am like a child at Christmas!

I finished the Hallowig, took some pics...now I just have to download them.

Gift for you

I created a sticker for you to take and put on your website or blog.

I am always smiling and it is done in Green Bay Packers colors...

I started knitting a wool hat for my dear hubby, Larry, using Naturally Tussock Aran yarn from NZ. It works up beautifully. I will post a picture when I get farther or done.

Hallowig is almost done. Just have to weave top together.

Wonderful Wins and Finds

Oh Boy look what the mailperson brought today!

13 pairs of circular needles!!!! Cost = about 80 cents each!

Yesterday while at my Dad's house, I did a little digging thru an area he hasn't gotten to yet. (My Mom passed away in '99). I found this little Avon suitcase that was mine from my first try of selling Avon in the early 70's. Inside it was jammed packed full of vintage Workbaskets and other booklets! There are issues dating back to 1954. Oh what fun it will be to look thru these.
There are a half years worth of issues from the year I was born. It will be fun to see what was in style and the prices of things in the ads.
I also found some other booklets and guess what they featured? Ponchos!!!

First Knit-Along

I joined my first KNit-Along last night!
I started knitting the HalloWig from Knitty.com.
HalloWig is a knit wig to wear for fun or Halloween.

I first saw this pattern earlier in the month and thought it would be fun to make and kept it in the back of my head. Then I saw someone was sponsoring a knit-along. Now was my chance to follow thru on my original thought to knit it.
I got pretty far last night while watching a movie with dear hubby.
The color is actually Tangerine ... Red Heart acrylic.

Felted Bags

I made some fun bags this summer.
The pink one was made for my daughter.
I used hot pink wool and fun fur.
They were very fun to make and fun to show off.

Socks are done

Wow, I finished my socks! It only took me 2 weeks...but it's been a few years since I knit socks and I was learning the new faster way on 2 circular needles. I also finished the toe in Kitchener stitch (a.k.a. grafting). First time for everything.

The Fixation variegated makes for unmatched patterns...

I will be starting some socks for my almost 7 month old grand-daughter,with the leftover of the Fixation yarn.

Knitting Socks

I just learned to knit socks on 2 circular needles! I am hooked as it is so much easier than 4 or 5 double pointed needles. Heel Turning and Gussets are so much quicker. I can see knitting many mittens in my future using 2 circulars. I am using Cascade's Fixation elastic yarn and it gives an awesome comfort and fit.

I find it amusing that I always buy the cheapest socks on sale and here I am paying money for yarn and taking the time to knit socks! But we don't knit to save money, do we? It is totally cheaper than a shrink!

Me? Blogging?

I can't believe I am going to try this "blogging"!!!!
I am not much of a writer but I will try.

I will share my knitting and everyday life here.

I started knitting when I was 10 at the knee of my Gramma. She was always busy with her hands. "Idle hands are the devil's playground", she would say!
Fall is the best time to knit as we are in the house and the yarn gives a warm feeling.
